Aero seatposts are raked backwards. Taillight mounts are not. Bolt a Garmin Varia to a raked post with the mount it came with and your radar ends up tilted toward the sky — scanning the treetops instead of the road behind you, and throwing its light where nobody is driving.

Cut for the D-shaped Tarmac SL7 seatpost profile (Tarmac and S-Works, all trims). The mounting angle is built into the part, so the light sits level with the ground. Fit it, tighten it, done — nothing to shim, nothing to guess at.

Why the angle matters

  • Radar needs to look where the cars are. A rear radar has a fixed vertical detection cone. Point it up and you shorten the range at which it picks up an approaching vehicle.
  • Light output goes where it's aimed. A taillight angled at the sky is dimmer to the driver behind you at every distance that counts.
  • No fiddling. Wedges, shims and stacked O-rings move under vibration. A mount cut for one seatpost shape doesn't.

Features

  • Model-specific fit: shaped to this seatpost's exact profile — seats flush, doesn't rotate.
  • Level by design: the correct angle is printed into the part.
  • Saddlebag-friendly: positioned so a tool bag doesn't block your light. Run both.
  • TPU, minimal bulk: flexible impact-resistant plastic; grips without heavy clamping force on carbon.
  • All screws included.

Choose your light

Pick the variant matching your taillight or radar. All Garmin quarter-turn lights are covered; the GoPro-interface variant also takes a race number holder. The light itself is not included — this is the mount only.

If your exact light isn't listed, email support@xecycle.shop and we'll tell you honestly whether it fits.

Fitting

Slide the mount onto the seatpost from below, position it clear of your saddlebag, and tighten evenly. Don't overtighten — TPU grips well without heavy torque, and excessive clamping force on a carbon seatpost is its own problem. Check it before every ride; replace after any crash.
